Another winter has come and gone, unfortunately another one without snow as well.  This lack of snow did not, however, deter volunteers of the Kittiwake Snowmobile Association and Scotiabank (Wesleyville Branch) from organizing another ‘Ride For Health’.  For 2010, in lieu of a snowmobile ride, organizers hosted a community walk and barbeque.  On a beautiful and warm April Saturday afternoon, organizers hosted a walk from the groomer shed in Valleyfield to Bonnews Lodge and return, and then fired up the grill for free hotdogs and pop for everyone.  Random prize were drawn throughout the afternoon, a poker ‘walk’ was held and the top 3 fundraisers were announced.  In total, over $12,000 was raised through this year’s event, bringing the three year total to just over $42,000 raised for health care needs at Brookfield Bonnews Health Centre.
