The Newfoundland and Labrador Snowmobile
Federation Inc. (NLSF) was incorporated in 1994 as the Newfoundland
Federation of Snowmobile Clubs Inc. In 1997 the name was changed to
what it is today. The NLSF is the provincial governing body of 16
volunteer snowmobile clubs across the Island portion of the
province, extending from Robinsons to St. Anthony and as far East as
St. John's. The Labrador portion of the province has it's own
trail network with it's own governing body.
The NLSF is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization made up of a
Board of Directors selected from the general membership. The NLSF
owns 21 groomers used by the clubs to keep the trail network of approximately 3700 km's across the island in great shape and in as timely a manner as possible. The NLSF is responsible for ensuring all trails are safely maintained by replacing and/or repairing damaged culverts, bridges, or washouts and removing blow-downs in the trail to ensure the safety of our users in the winter. |
